2014 Fall Conference Sets Attendance Records

To put it in mathematical terms, if n(x) = number of people who attend event x and A is the set of all previous V2CTM conferences, then n(Oct 7 V2CTM Conference) > n(a) for all a in set A.

To put it in statistical terms, the number of people who attended the Oct. 7 conference was an outlier, more than two standard deviations above the mean number of attendees at all V2CTM conferences.

To put it in everyday terms, we had a record number of teachers attend our Fall 2014 Conference!

200 teachers heard great presentations from Dr. John Almarode, Dr. Kateri Thunder, Kara Velez, and Amanda Rickard.  Amanda was also presented with the V2CTM Award for Excellence in Teaching during the conference.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious lasagna meal catered by White Hill Catering.  Approximately 50 door prizes were distributed.

Spring VCTM Conference a Huge Success

VCTMLogo

The annual spring VCTM Conference hosted by V2CTM at JMU on  March 14, 15 was a huge success.  Nearly 1,000 teachers attended the conference including approximately 500 from the V2CTM region.   Program chairman Kyle Schultz had arranged for over 150 excellent sessions for teachers to choose from.

The conference ran extremely smoothly thanks to the excellent planning by Kyle and Conference chairman LouAnn Lovin and the many hard working volunteers who assisted them.  LouAnn sent a thank you note to the many V2CTM volunteers that included this message:

I was approached Thursday, Friday, and Saturday by many people who expressed how much they were enjoying the conference and their appreciation for the work the local group was doing to host the conference. It is a pleasure to work with people who jump right in and do tasks that need to be done and then come back to do more. Your hard manual labor, positive attitudes, and good humor were much appreciated by many but most of all by me.

V2CTM is especially grateful to the hospitality provided by James Madison University.  The facilities in the ISAT/HHS complex were superb and widely appreciated by conference attendees.  The JMU food service provided tasty food a’plenty for those in attendance.  The vendors seemed as pleased as the conference attendees.
